Indication: For the stimulation of uterine contractions to induce labor, facilitate milk letdown and assist in the delivery of placenta.
Dosage (Dogs): 0.5-1.0 iu / kg bodyweight IM or SQ
Dosage (Cats): 0.1-0.5 iu / kg bodyweight IM or SQ
Remarks: Avoid administer to patients with known hypersensitivity to oxytocin. Oxytocin should not be given to certain conditions such as uterine rupture, severe fetal malposition, maternal obstruction, dystoxia due to non-uterine causes and patients with pre-existing cardiovascular diseases such as hypertension.
